16. Confidentiality
Introduction
ACM Translations respects the privacy of every user of the Website. This paragraph summarizes the information that the Company may collect and how it may use it, as well as information on the actions that the user of the Website must take if he/she does not wish to have his/her personal information collected or further processed during his/her visit to the Website.
Personal Data
ACM Translations may keep a record and process any user data (e.g., name, address, telephone number or e-mail address) (hereinafter “personal data”), which will come to its knowledge through the Website and the services provided through it, only if such data is voluntarily provided by the users.
In this case, the Company may forward the Personal Data to its affiliated companies, if this is required for operational and computerized reasons of its transactional relationship with the user or for statistical or historical reasons. Recipients of the data contained in the File, for the promotion, support, and execution of the transactional relationship between the Company and the user of the Website, may also be third parties that cooperate with the Company in providing services related to the File. Furthermore, the Company may (provided that it has not received a specific instruction to the contrary from the user) disclose Users’ Personal Data to third parties for the advertising promotion of the Company’s products or of businesses with which the Company cooperates, for market research or other similar activities, as well as for the distance marketing of its own products or those of third parties.
If a user of the website does not wish to have his/her Personal Data collected and possibly kept and processed in accordance with the above, then he/she should avoid submitting them to the Company.
However, if the user consents to the aforementioned collection, maintenance and processing of his/her Personal Data as defined herein, it is expressly noted that at any time he/she retains the right to inform or object to the further processing of his/her Personal Data under Articles 11 and 13 of Law 2472/97 on the protection of personal data.
In order to exercise this right, each user may contact the Company at the following e-mail address www.episimes-metafraseis.gr. In addition, if a user voluntarily provides their Personal Data, the Company may use this information, unless otherwise specified, in the following ways:
storing and processing this information to better understand the needs of users and consumers in general and how to further improve the Company’s products and services,
potential use of such information by the Company (or by a fulfillment agent or third party on its behalf in connection with a promotion) for future communications with users,
possible provision to third parties contracted with the Company of collective – but not individual or personalised – information about visitors or users of the Website.
In case of direct disclosure by the user of the Website to third parties of his/her Personal Data, the Company shall not be liable for the use of the Personal Data of the user by such third parties. Therefore, it is the sole responsibility of the user to personally study the relevant terms of personal data protection before disclosing personal data to third parties via the Internet or the Website.
Finally, the Company shall not be liable in the event of disclosure either to the Company or to a third party, either in the context of the services or the content of the Website or voluntarily by a user of another person’s personal data (indicatively, his/her full name, e-mail address, telephone number, etc.) without having previously obtained the consent of this person, which shall be the sole responsibility of the disclosing user.
Minors
The Company does not intend to collect any Personal Data from persons under the age of eighteen. Where appropriate, the Company will clearly inform minor children not to submit such information to the Website and/or will take all reasonable steps to obtain parental consent for such submission.
Parents should be aware that the Company’s Confidentiality Policy governs the collection, record keeping and processing of Personal Data by the Company, but any information voluntarily provided by minors – or others – in chat sessions, e-mails, bulletin boards or similar means may be used by others to send e-mails that they do not wish to be received by minors.
The Company encourages all parents to inform their minor children about the safe and responsible use of their Personal Data when they use the Internet.
Automatically Collected Information or Data
In some cases, technical information that is not personally identifiable may be automatically collected (e.g., not through registration) when a user visits or uses the website. Examples of this type of information that may be collected are the type of Internet Browser used by the user, the type of computer operating system used by the user to visit the website and the domain name of the website used by the user to connect to the Website.
Cookies
Cookies are data files that are transferred from a web server to the computer of the person visiting the Website for the purpose of keeping statistics. Cookies are an industry standard, are used by most websites and make it easier for users to repeatedly access and use a particular website. Cookies are not harmful to your computer system or your files and only the website from which a particular cookie was transferred to your computer has the ability to read, modify or delete it.
If you do not want information to be collected through cookies, you can use the settings available in most web browsers, which allow you to delete existing cookies and choose to either automatically reject future cookies, or decide whether to reject or accept each specific cookie on your computer. It should be noted, however, that rejecting cookies may make it more difficult or impossible to use certain parts of the site.
Pixel Tags
The Website may use media such as so-called “pixel tags”, “web beacons”, “clear GIFs” or similar media. All of the above are collectively called “Pixel Tags” and are intended to collect aggregate statistics on Website usage and response speed. With Pixel Tags, we can measure the number of users who visited specific pages of the Website, provide branded services and determine the effectiveness of promotions or advertising campaigns.
When used in e-mail messages written in HTML format, Pixel Tags offer the sender of the message the ability to find out if and when the message was opened by the recipient.
Right of Withdrawal / Product Return
The Client is entitled to withdraw from the sale within 14 calendar days, starting from the time of delivery of the product or service (to the Client or to the carrier indicated by the latter), returning the product in its original condition, bearing the return costs and any reduction in the value of the goods.
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal/Return
An exception to the right of withdrawal exists only for Service Contracts after the full provision of the service, if performance has commenced with the prior express consent of the Client, and with the Client’s acknowledgement that he/she will forfeit his/her right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully performed by ACM Translations. In addition, cases in which the payment of the price or the delivery of the documents has taken place in our office are excluded, as the sale is not considered to have been made at a distance.
